      On the afternoon of June 12, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Home Affairs Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, co-sponsored by Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, and schemed by the Shandong Provincial Cultural Center and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office of Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, the launching ceremony of the "The Roots and the Souls, and Endless Green - The Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition of Shandong Province" was successfully held at the Hong Kong Central Library. 

      Mr. Jack Chan, Deputy Director of the Home Affairs Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China and Ms. Li Guolin, Level I Inspector of Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism attended the launching ceremony and delivered speeches. Attending the ceremony are also Mr. Man Hongwei, Inspector of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Office of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ms. Li Mei-sheung, Director-General of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, Director Cui Suxiang of the Asia Tourism Exchange Center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Chairman Liao Bing of the Hong Kong Lianyi Institute Limited, Director Leung Jieling of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Level II Consultant Wang Shang from the Intangible Heritage Division of Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Deputy Director Sui Yunpeng of the Foreign Exchange and Cooperation Division (Taiwan, HK and Macao Affairs Office) of Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and Deputy Director Zhao Xintian from Shandong Provincial Cultural Center.

      At the launching ceremony, intangible heritage shows were performed, such as mantis boxing, Lv (Shandong) Opera "The Sister Marrying to a Top Master", five tune opera, "Wang Xiao the Porter" and "Grinding to Make Bean Curd". 

      "The Roots and the Souls, and Endless Green - The Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition of Shandong Province" will last from June 6th to 23rd, including intangible heritage items falling into the category of weaving, embroidery and dyeing, the category of pottery and ceramics, the category of printing and painting, the category of brush, ink, paper and inkstone, the category of carving and engraving, and etc., and intangible heritage performance such as Guqin (seven stringed musical instrument), Shandong Clapper Ballad, Lv (Shandong) Opera, Liuzi Opera, Puppet Show, and mantis boxing. The content is lively and diverse, and it strives to fully demonstrate the spirit, resources, precious value, preservation achievemets of Shandong's intangible cultural heritage to the people of Hong Kong in order to promote the exchanges and cooperation of intangible cultural heritage between Shandong and Hong Kong.
