On Dec. 19, the Press Conference of Weifang 1532 Cultural Industrial Park & Centurial Tobacco History · Red Cigarette Logo Exhibition was held in Weifang City, on which, an introduction was made to the construction of Weifang 1532 Cultural Industrial Park, and the achievements Kuiwen District has made in accelerating the development of cultural industry and convening the Centurial Tobacco History ·Red Cigarette Logo Exhibition.
This year, centering around the decision and layout of the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, Weifang City, Weifang City is creating a new pattern to construct a renowned cultural city. At present, its cultural industry is entering the active period of prosperous development with unprecedented opportunities. Kuiwen, as the downtown of the whole city, is looking into the excavation and upholding of traditional culture, in-depth implementation of the integrated development strategy of “culture + industry” to accelerate project construction, cultural brand establishment and public cultural system building, the transfer of old and new motivations and the construction of a renowned cultural city.
The reporter learned from the Press Conference that at present, Kuiwen district is on its way of full coverage with public cultural services, and has formed a “10min cultural walking circle”, built 100 “bookstores of the people”, 20 “book bars of the city”, while public cultural services are normalized to achieve the unification of book borrowing, e-reading, film appreciation, arts rehearsal, entertainment and body fitness, science popularization, exhibition of calligraphy and painting, exhibition of intangible heritage, and volunteer service. More than 150 cultural teams have formed an extensive and vital foundation for grassroots cultural service; to establish brands in cultural activities, each year, over 300 activities of different forms and more than 200 training as well as 30 exhibitions are held, benefiting 600,000 residents. To enlarge and consolidate cultural industry, 6 projects were included in “10·30·100” supporting projects, and contracts have been signed for “Weifang Book Mall”, a large-scale cultural complex with total investment of RMB 230 million; each year, 20 exhibitions are convened in various forms, and the cultural and creative association and e-commerce alliance of cultural industry were set up, while a development platform for cultural industry was also built. By making full use of its advantages in geographical location and humanistic resources, Kuiwen District is vigorously implementing the strategy of driving by key projects in cultural industry, and persistently pushing forward the integrated development of “culture+” with the structural reform of supply side as the main line, in order to boost the construction of a public cultural service system, to provide a solid support for the transfer of old and new motivations and the construction of a renowned cultural city.
On the press conference, an introduction was made to Weifang 1532 Cultural Industrial Park, which was founded in 1917 as BAT Co., Ltd. and known as the earliest, largest and best preserved tobacco rebaking factory in China. The Park has preserved a batch of ancient buildings, workshops and warehouses in Europeans style, which grant it a profound historical background of industry. It was appraised as a key cultural relics protection unit in Shandong Province in 2013, and listed in provincial special historical and cultural block in 2016. Aiming to be a national cultural industrial park, the Park will make full use of its aboveground buildings of more than 50,000 square meters and underground underpasses of about 6 kilometer to establish a cultural and creative industrial clustering area in which “culture, business and tourism” are coordinated and integrated, in order to protectively develop and utilize historical and cultural relics.
At present, over 140 famous cultural and creative enterprises have settled down in the Park. According to planning, the “Crystal Palace” Film and Television Theater, Scala Western Wine City Show Base will be constructed to form a unique creative and pioneering model area with special features, a gathering place for fashions, and a new tourist attractions. In 2018, it was included as a core and support project to build a “renowned cultural city”, a municipal cultural industry model area, a municipal creative and pioneering model area, a provincial special block of history and culture, and granted with titles such as “Weifang Makers Space”, “Weifang Cultural Industry Model Park Creator”, and “Weifang Creative and Pioneering Model Park”.
For the cigarette logo exhibition, information was also provided on the Press Conference. It will be held in March of next year by dividing all cigarette logos Mr. Ma Qichang, the Vice President of Weifang Tobacco Logo Collection Association, has collected into over 20 red themes and 8 plates to praise the glorious process of the CPC 19th National Congress, and over 30,000 about the Great China Dream.
