On August 10th, Cultural and Tourism Work Symposium was held in the City of Weifang, Shandong Province. Since the beginning of this year, the City of Weifang has achieved remarkable results in promoting rural cultural revitalization. The city has carried out 1,560 performances in public interest by performance troupes to the grassroots level and broadcast more than 38,000 public welfare films, with a cumulative audience of more than 4.5 million people. More than 20 million yuan fiscal budget has been put in it, and the activity of "Establishing Pilot Town (Street) and Village (Community) for the Rural Revitalization of Public Cultural Construction" has been carried out. The "carpet-searching" investigation and rectification have been carried out in the 337 provincial poverty-stricken villages for their cultural activity rooms, providing spiritual motivation and cultural support for poverty alleviation and rural revitalization.
Tian Suying, Party Secretary and Director of Weifang Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau introduced that in the second half of the year, Weifang Culture and Tourism Bureau will further combine the integration of culture and tourism and promotion of rural revitalization, and strive for great progress in various undertakings.
Tian Suying said that the City of Weifang will vigorously develop rural tourism in the second half of the year, focusing on promoting the establishment of villages with scenic spots and the cultivation of rural tourism clusters, and raising more funds for the development of rural tourism. We will further improve the rural public service system, and deepen the "Toilet Revolution", completing the construction, renovation and expansion of 90 tourist toilets, and striving to complete the "Third Bathroom" in the scenic spots above AAAA ranking. We will accelerate the construction of the county cultural centers and the headquarter-to-branch system for libraries , deepen the implementation of the "One Play Per Year for One Village" project, improve the level of public cultural services, enhance the service efficiency of the grassroots comprehensive cultural centers, and enhance the satisfaction of the masses. We will implement the cultural activity room improvement project in poverty-stricken villages, consolidate the cultural poverty alleviation position, guide and help each provincial level poverty-stricken village to establish at least one amateur cultural team, and create more than one cultural activity brand. Effort will be made in cultivating and supporting a group of village household performance troupes in the poverty-stricken villages, in telling stories of the common people around them, and in enhancing the confidence of the people to get rid of poverty and strive for a moderately prosperous society. It is necessary to guide poor villages with certain resources to develop rural tourism, so that more impoverished people can make a living on and get rich by tourism. It is needed to exploit and present in an attractive way the agricultural products and handicraft resources in poverty-stricken areas, and make use of the cultural e-commerce platform for free promotion to increase the employment and income of impoverished farmers. We shall guide rural tourism projects for poverty alleviation to further consolidate and improve poverty alleviation achievements, and implement with high standards for radio and television reaching every households to help the poor people.
