Instructor profile

Liu Zhijiang, born in Weifang in 1973, is the fourth generation representative inheritor of Traditional kite, the national first-level kite referee, the first-level kite sports instructor, the member of Weifang Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Association, and the founder of Banmofang (Flyer) Kite Studio. In 1989, he was admitted to the first professional kite technical school in China. He was taught by Weifang kite masters Han Fuling, Kang Baozhong, Mao Xinmin, Song Yongke, Xie Huiquan, Wang Kebin, Zheng Lansheng, Yang Lianzhong, etc. He was also taught by art professors Zhou Chizhou and Zhang Yi. His works have won many competition prizes in domestic and foreign. In recent years, he has devoted himself to the creation of traditional kite technology, innovative kite design and restoration of Weixian traditional kite, meanwhile actively participated in the promotion and inheritance of kite culture activities. He has served as the instructor of intangible cultural Heritage training for many times and has been appointed as visiting instructor of kite technology by many educational institutions.
