 on August 19,2020. Mo Yan, famous writer and winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, came to visit Weifang City Museum and met with the museum curator, Ji Shuchun.

 Mo Yan and his companies visited Wuhua Tianbao collection of cultural relics essence exhibition, Weifang simple history display, the collection of comrades painting clue calligraphy and painting exhibition, as well as the museum's other treasure collections. During the visiting, Mo Yan highlighted comments about our library contribution in recent years, such as to be rewarded as "National first grade Museum "," National Patriotic Education demonstration Base "," National key Cultural relics Protection Unit" and other national awards.

Weifang native, vice chairman of the Chinese Writers Association (CWA), whose works are full of complex emotions of "nostalgia", is classified as a writer of "root-seeking literature". In 2000, Mo yan's Red Sorghum was selected by Asia Weekly as one of the "top 100 Chinese Novels of the 20th Century". Mo Yan's Sandalwood Death was unanimously shortlisted for the MAO Dun Literature Prize in 2005. In 2011, Mo won the MAO Dun Literature Prize for his novel Frog. Mo yan became the first Chinese writer to win the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2012.
