The statistics of Weifang Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center shows, until this January, the city has collected and sorted out more than 20,000 clues of intangible cultural heritage resources, including 2 items of the United Nations "Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity", 16 items of the national intangible cultural heritage list, 72 items of the provincial level, 232 items of the municipal level and 1025 items of the county level. There are 6 representative of inheritors at the national level, 38 representative at the provincial level, 233 representative at the municipal level and 901 representative at the county level. A comprehensive four-level list system has been basically put in place, and a large number of intangible cultural heritage items have been effectively protected.
So far, the city has built 17 high-standard museums and more than 300 study centers for intangible cultural heritage, announced 14 demonstration bases and 8 school bases, planned to build 30 comprehensive centers ,more than 1,000 square meters, and a number of township-level exhibition rooms. Ysngjisbu Folk Art Grand View Park, Gaomi Northeast Town(red sorghum) film studio, China Kite Industry Base, JingZhi Liquor Exhibition Center, Qingzhou Songcheng Park and so on, totally more than 20 large-scale thematic cultural parks completed a functional and rational layout of the heritage protection facilities.
In the rural support programs, the inheritors are encouraged to apprentice more than 5000 people and train out more than 500 skilled inheritors in a year. Additionally, "Nine thousands embroiderers” training project, Weifang Peach Stone carving lecture, Woodblock New Year Painting training etc. enlarged the intangible culture inheritors group. At the same time, the activity of “intangible culture heritage in school” introduced the traditional art,crafts skills and martial arts into the curriculum, which covering over 1,000 primary and secondary schools, nearly 50,000 students every year. On the other hand, the vocational education on intangible cultural heritage has been conducted in Weifang Commercial School as the selected course. 10 handicraft workshops in Weifang Deaf-mute School aim to train the deaf-mute students master a handicraft that can make a living. With the above programs, the city has established one national-level production protection base for intangible cultural heritage and five provincial ones, organized the "2016 China (Weifang) First Traditional Crafts Creative Design Competition". At present, there are more than 12,000 employees in the related creative field, with an annual income of more than 8 billion yuan.
Except participated in national and regional intangible cultural heritage expos, and gone abroad for exchanging, the city filmed the “Weifang peach stone carving”, "eternal home" and dozens of audio and video AD, meanwhile opened a TV show column to introduce Wei River culture, cooperated with film and television works,such as the TV series "leader",” red sorghum”, were embedded paper cutting, New Year pictures, clay sculpture, to promote Weifang traditional crafts.
