Education for the elderly is indispensable part of the national education. These Intangible cultural heritage courses targeted at the elderly to pass on skills and promote the traditional folk art.
At the beginning of 2021, Weifang elderly University established a branch school of intangible cultural heritage with the Shihu Garden Arts and Crafts Education Base, to launch out arts and crafts education activities for the elderly.
On April 6, 2021, the Intangible Cultural Heritage branch of the Elderly University officially opened four courses, including Guqin, Kite, Dough Sculptures and pottery. The inheritors of the intangible cultural heritage projects are lecturers to teach the classes. so as to integrate the intangible cultural heritage into the art education of the aged.
"Shihu Garden Arts and Crafts Education Base" brief introduction
At the end of 2019, the base was announced to be set up by the China arts and crafts society in Weifang Shihu Garden Culture Community. Adhering to carry forward the traditional culture, popularizing the crafts among of the public, the base focuses to improve the creation ability and train talents.
