On June 16, the "Creative City Development" seminar in Hoi An City, Vietnam was held through a combination of online and offline. Weifang City, as a creative city in Crafts and folk art field, was invited to participate in the conference in virtually with Sasayama in Japan, Sukothai and Chiang Mai in Thailand and other friendly cities.
Hoi An has a long history of pottery craftsmanship and is also a popular tourist destination. Hoi An City faces several
problems in the integrated development of cultural and tourism industries, including the lack of creative design, the loss of traditional skills, the lack of public places for training and promotion in young people for attracting more youths to love traditional handicraft. The representatives of Weifang put forward a number of suggestions around the above problems, and shared Weifang's best practices in the integration and development of cultural and tourism industry, creative talent training, industry development, international exchanges and cooperation during the conference.
