On February 25, the 8th Weifang Beihai Folk Festival was held in Weifang Binhai Tourism Resort. Local fishermen, salt practitioners and tourists from Dezhou, Dongying, Liaocheng and other places gather here to pray for peace, good weather and good fishing and salt production. Weifang Beihai Folk Festival is a spontaneous Marine folk activity, the main worship of sea goddess Mazu, dragon King, salt Zong Su Sha, salt god Guan Zhong.
The theme of this year is "Developing Beihai · Brighten Intangible heritage", and the whole process advocates protect nature and ecological balance of the sea. It is mainly divided into: lighting the sacrificial fire, lighting the high incense, honoring incense, honoring flowers, honoring grains, dancing loong and honoring the sea, honoring grains and other links. The scene also organized Loong dance, lion dance, large gongs and drums team, intangible cultural heritage in the sea, mass singing and dancing performances.
Offering sacrifices to the sea is a kind of sacrificial way for coastal residents to express their worship faith and gratitude to nature, and is an important part of Marine culture.
At present, Weifang coastal area has formed the Beihai folk custom Festival, Beihai fishing salt Culture Festival, Tianhou Palace folk temple fair three folk brands festivals.
